Sunset Meadow Vineyards in Goshen, CT, was originally a working farm purchased in 1996. Today, 50 acres of vineyards lie on rich and fertile soil and produce a flavorful assortment of wines including robust reds and bright whites. Be sure to check out the historic tasting room, which has been crafted using estate antiques and original hand-hewed beams and overlooks the picturesque Western Connecticut highlands.
Situated on the shore of Lake Waramaug, Hopkins Vineyard has been growing grapes since 1979 and now features 30 acres of vines and a state-of-the-art winery. They also host a variety of fun events throughout the year, including Wine Festivals in May and September. Guests are also invited to the tasting room on weekends for wines by the glass, artisan cheese platters, and fine teas.
The Jones family have farmed their land in Shelton, CT for over 150 years. Their extensive farming experience and famous berries have allowed them to create a selection of delicious grape wines and specialty fruit wines. The Jones Winery tasting room is located in a renovated 19th-century dairy barn, where guests can sample six wines and enjoy learning about wine tasting, winemaking, and the farm’s history.
Located in Guilford, CT, Bishop’s Orchards offers fruit wines, hard ciders, and popular Connecticut Farm Wines that highlight the orchard’s produce. This includes apples, peaches, pears, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Guests can experience a one-of-a-kind tasting year-round at the wine bar, located inside an original 1928 barn.
Known for their fabulous Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon varietals, Chamard Vineyards is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. This winery benefits from the unique microclimate influenced by both the Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River. They also offer wine tastings, live music, picnics, a farm to kitchen menu, and more.
